What it does
Put someone on your snub list along with the show they own. From then on their show is gone from the places your service keeps pushing it: the big carousel at the top, recommendations, Top 10, Continue Watching, search, and the "Up next" card that appears the moment your own show ends.
It doesn't leave holes. Snub removes the show before the page is drawn, so the carousel has one fewer slide and the row simply closes up, the way it would if the show had never been there. And if autoplay starts one of their episodes anyway, Snub takes you back to the home screen.
What it leaves alone
Snub removes what a person makes, not every mention of them.
- Content about them. A comedian's segment taking apart someone you've snubbed stays put. That's someone else's work, and it's often the best part of the week.
- Ads. Snub isn't an ad blocker. Ads play exactly as they would without it.
- Your account and the video itself. Playback, quality and your subscription are untouched.
- Your data. Your list lives in your browser and syncs only through your own browser account. Snub has no servers and sends nothing about you anywhere. Privacy policy.
Install it
Snub isn't in the extension stores yet; that's in progress. Until then, it installs straight from this download in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera.
- Download Snub and unzip it somewhere it can stay, like your Documents folder. The browser runs it from that folder.
- Open your browser's extensions page:
chrome://extensions,edge://extensions,brave://extensionsoropera://extensions. Switch on Developer mode. - Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.
- Pin Snub to the toolbar, click it, and add the first person to your list. Reload your streaming tab.
Installed this way, Snub can't update itself, but it will tell you when there's something new: a small "new" badge on its icon, and a line in its window saying what changed. Download it again, unzip it over the same folder, and press reload on Snub in your extensions page. Your list stays.
Firefox only keeps add-ons that Mozilla has checked and signed, so Snub will arrive there through Mozilla's add-on site rather than this page. It's on the way.
Where it works
One service at a time, because each one is built differently and each one changes without warning. It's better to work properly in one place than half-work in five.
Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera now. Firefox on the way.
